Through the many doored house
My song walks through,
One
door
at
a
time
It knocks on an ivory door
and opens it with laughter
A word comes out of it
Pleasure.
It knocks on a silver door
and opens it with a smile
A word comes out of it
Wisdom.
It knocks on a sandalwood door
and opens it with pride
A word comes out of it
Elixir
It knocks on a golden door
and opens it with silence
A word comes out of it
Truth
It knocks on a glass door
and opens it with tears
A word comes out of it
Love
It stands in front of an open door
Laden with all the words
No word comes out
No
word
I quite like this poem, beautiful associations.. Has a mystical feel to it.. I especially loved these lines,

Truly beautiful. :)
Actually, the poem grows on you.. Seems to get more beautiful with every reading.. Isn't that a trait of good writing?
ReplyDeleteCame here from 'Erotme'. I liked 'Born Again' ... Somehow, that one is what I liked best (I'm a nut who likes simple stuff !) Would have commented lot more - but pretty zapped out and I got to go. Shall check in this week end :)
ReplyDeleteKeep writing ...
@JAB - Perhaps, more a trait of good reading, my dear. Really glad you liked it.
ReplyDelete@Ahavah - Welcome here.
Born again is a favourite of most. Simply because it came out honest.
That is what I'm endeavouring to do in this blog now. To write honestly.
Do keep visiting.
Beautiful. I enjoyed this poem a lot... and as JAB says, it does seem to grow on you...
ReplyDeleteas much as you might hate hate the phrase: its melancholically beautiful.
ReplyDelete@Eroteme - Welcome back here! :-)
ReplyDelete@Ramses - Who said I hate that phrase? :-O I believe completely in 'iniya isai sOgamudaiththu'
A melody is in this poem that reminds me of Tagore's Gitanjali; as too there is a profundity to it in its very simplicity.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
